The earlier entry to my blog was yesterdays contribution...delayed by my falling into the Chatroom.
Tinkerbelle told me that the Cahtroom is more addictive than posting........BH, I can see me getting a square bum as well as square eyes.
Today my car had to go in for its' MOT.......it is a little red Micra.......and will be 9 years old on the 4th of August.....well, it might actually be older than that, but I picked it up brand new from D. C. Cook (it should have been D.C. Crooks really) 9 years ago. I did not enjoy the experience of having a new car.......I hated the bloody thing.......I had traded in a lovely red Ford Fiesta.......and got this horrible shaped thing in its' place.
When I took delivery of the car there was maybe enough petrol in it to fill a cigarette lighter......the tight buggers.....best of it is I heard that another Nissan garage filled the tank up and there were chocolates and flowers on the back seat......like I said tight buggers.
Hubby said that the Ford was heavy on the steering......but I liked 'heavy'.......I was used to 'heavy'.......this new car felt like driving a helium balloon.......and it looked like a noddy car.
I think it took me about 18 months to really become one with that car. Recently he was trying to get me to sell it..........but although I don't drive much now......it is mine......and I don't want to sell it.
He tells me it is not economical.......then he drives my car all the time and only takes his out every now and then.......so what is that all about eh.
If I get rid of it I can't drive it...even if I want to.
While the MOT was being done we had a mooch around town......I went into the Cancer Research shop......well, they have 3 books for a pound......and the rate I go through books, well it makes sense to buy them there. I bought a couple of Novels and a book called 'Six ways to lose a Stone in Six Weeks'.......both hubby and I could do with losing some weight......I looked at the book and there are a variety of diets.........and also the nasty 'E' word........I think the only way I would lose a stone in six weeks would be to get a leg chopped off in a revolving door!
I am not really a glutton, but I do like good plain food. I am not good on the foreign stuff......curries, pizzas, pasta. I really admire the first person who tried to eat oysters........yuk and double yuk. I spent a week in Hong Kong and only ate English food.......went into a very posh Chinese Restaurant and wanted chicken and chips....... didn't get it.......so didn't eat anything.
I am not about to put in my mouth something I can't recognise.......and no witty remarks here please.
I used to exercise regularly......step classes and aerobics three times a week.....but my arthritic knees have put the stop to that. (bloody old age)
I promise that I will walk more........but it is just so easy to plonk myself down in front of this machine and tell myself I will do it later.
I am going to have to work out a reward system......like I have to walk 2kms to have an hour on the computer.
I bought my nieces' bike when she went off to Oz........why.....? I can't ride a bloody bike.......I thought I could learn, but the kids keep laughing at me when I try. I'm in danger of becoming like Muti a little diabetic butterball.
On the subject of Muti......I took her to see the dietitian last week......she has to go every six months. Oooh what porkie pies she tells the girl......never eats sweet stuff......my eye. She says she has just a 'suspicion' of marmalade on her toast.......puts it on then scrapes it off.....oh yeah........I've sat opposite this women at breakfast when we go away...... and believe me it doesn't happen. She is to dieting what I am to weightlifting. Anyway, I just might enrol hubby in a weight watchers class... he would be in his element I'm sure.
I know all the theory to dieting.... the practice just eludes me.
I am anorexic really.......I just haven't got the hang of vomitting!
